What is esport psychology?

Esport psychology is psychological support tailored specifically for the gaming world. We help players, teams, leaders and organizations develop the mental skills that actually matter in esports — managing nerves, building confidence, staying focused under pressure, communicating better, and finding a sustainable balance between competing and everything else in life.

Vilka är fördelarna med esportpsykologi?

Esport psychology helps players and teams perform better and feel better — often at the same time. Working with a sport psychology consultant can improve focus, emotional control, communication, resilience and decision-making. It can also help with the things that sustain a gaming career long-term — motivation, balance, healthy habits, and knowing how to bounce back when things don't go to plan.

Who do you work with?

We work with individual players, competitive teams, coaches, leaders, schools, event organizers and organizations. Whether you're looking for one-on-one consulting, a workshop for your team, a lecture for a school, or a partnership for an event, we'd love to talk about what that could look like.

How does physical health connect to gaming performance?

Gaming performance and physical health are more connected than most people think. Sleep, movement, nutrition and social connection all affect how you think, react and feel during play. We help players build sustainable habits in these areas — not as a lecture, but as part of their overall development as a competitor and a person.

How does social media affect gamers?

Social media can be a great tool for connection and community — but it can also disrupt sleep, fuel social comparison, and expose players to criticism and toxicity. We help players develop a healthier relationship with social media, so it works for them rather than against them.

What are your qualifications?

All AEP members hold a university degree in sport and exercise psychology — at minimum a bachelor's degree, with most having completed a master's degree as well. We also all have genuine personal experience with esports and gaming, which is what makes our approach feel relevant rather than theoretical.

Is our work together confidential?

Confidentiality is one of our core values. What you share with us stays with us. The only exception is when we consult internally within the AEP team to make sure we're giving you the best possible support — and we only do that with your consent and without sharing personal details. When working with teams, we sometimes work in pairs to offer broader perspectives, but the same principles always apply.

Where are you based and how do you work?

We are based in Sweden but work both online and in person — which means we can support you wherever you are. We have worked with players, teams and organizations across Europe and beyond, across a wide range of esports titles. Online sessions give us the flexibility to work around your schedule and time zone, while our in-person presence at events means we also show up where the community actually is.
